1st Gold Star: Kansas City Royals, Chiefs

The Royals joined forces with the Kansas City Chiefs and Operation Blessing International to feed more than 3,000 needy families in Kansas City.  Under the motto “Two Teams: One Goal,” the clubs joined more than 200 community volunteers to distribute Operation Blessing’s food and toys to those who needed it most. Great job, guys. What an inspiration and definitely worthy of our first co-1st Gold Star!

2nd Gold Star: Tampa Bay Rays

The Rays Baseball Foundation, the official charity of the Rays, awarded a total of $72,500 to 15 local nonprofit organizations through the Community Fund Grant. Rays players who had invested time and money into the Rays Baseball Foundation were in attendance. The Rays continue to do big things in their community!

3rd Gold Star: New York Yankees

The New York Yankees Foundation will held the second annual New York Yankees/New Era Pinstripe Bowl Charity Golf Tournament presented by UnitedHealthcare on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township, N.J.  Net proceeds from the event benefit the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Pediatric Cancer Center, Tourette Syndrome Association of Central New Jersey, the Boomer Esiason Foundation Fighting Cystic Fibrosis and UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation. This year’s event included select head coaches from Big East football and basketball teams, New York Yankees alumni, broadcasters as well as current and former New York Giants football players!
