1st Gold Star: Texas Rangers

The Rangers grab this week’s top spot for unveiling a heart-warming statue in honor of Shannon Stone, the fan whoJosh Hamilton and Cooper Stone fist bump. Sharon Ellman (AP) died after trying to catch a foul ball for his son. The Texans continue to prove they have a heart just as big as their state. What a fantastic job, guys!

2nd Gold Star: Houston Astros

The Houston Astros and the City of Houston hosted a parade for veterans of the Iraq War on April 7. At the end of the parade, the troops went inside the ballpark for an on-field, pregame ceremony. The Astros also provided tickets to all uniformed parade participants and their immediate families! Well done, Astros!

3rd Gold Star: New Orleans Hornets

The Hornets get the 3rd star as the team hosted a military night on April 7th, as they took on the Minnesota Timberwolves. Hornets Head Coach Monty Williams invited several military families to watch the game, as well as participate in on the court activities. Awesome!
