Hosmer Catches New Gig For BBCS

Eric Hosmer, the young one-bagger for the Kansas City Royals has taken on a new assignment. Yesterday, the Royals and Hosmer announced that he would be a new celebrity ambassador/spokesman (not to be confused with Fabio’s “actor slash model” role in Zoolander) for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City (BBBS-KC). Through his new role with the BBBS-KC, Hosmer will help lead a recruitment campaign to help find “Bigs” for over 300 children. He’s also planning on providing game tickets, as well as meet and greet opportunities to those participating. Hosmer, who hit .293 with 19 HR’s and 78 RBI’s in 128 games is excited for such an opportunity.

“Growing up in Florida I had the good fortune of having an older brother who showed me the ropes,” said Hosmer.  “Now that I’m older and in a position to help, I’m excited to be someone that the kids in the Kansas City area can look up to and it’s an honor for me to support such an outstanding organization.”

Kudos to Eric for taking on this role. He’s got a bright future both on and off the field.
