Brewers Foundation receives award

MILWAUKEE — Since its inception in 2000, the Brewers Community Foundation continually provides more than $1  million dollars each year in financial assistance through many different venues.  The foundation is the official charitable arm of the Milwaukee Brewers and harnesses pride, passion and commitment of Brewers fans, players and many other supporters.  Their goal is to have a positive impact in the lives of children and their families in Greater Milwaukee and Wisconsin.

Recently the Brewers Community Foundation was the recipient of the M&I, a partner of BMO Financial Group, Lincoln Gaines Award from the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee.  The award honors the memory of Lincoln Gaines and his commitment to Milwaukee’s central city.  In 1929, Gaines was a co-organizer of the North Central YMCA.  He spent over 50 years of his life improving the quality of life for Milwaukee’s youth.  The award was presented at the the YMCA’s 15th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. breakfast at the Frontier Airlines Center.

Every year the YMCA recognizes members and organizations in the Milwaukee community that positively impact the community. This impact is through celebrating diversity, impel action in building a better future for all mankind and speak on behalf of justice.  The Brewers Community Foundation was found to have met these criteria and embody the values of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Good in Sports congratulates the Brewers Community Foundation for their dedication and achievements in the Greater Milwaukee area and Wisconsin.  We are proud to award them with a Gold Star.
