The Seattle Seahawks announced Thursday their roll in a new community campaign known as “A Better Seattle”. Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll is teaming with the Chief Executive of Microsoft, Steve Ballmer, to help raise awareness and funds to prevent gang violence in the Seattle area. A big portion of the focus will be supporting a YMCA program in Greater Seattle known as “Alive & Free”.”Pete Carroll has shown incredible leadership on the field and in the community and I am thrilled he is bringing that to create A Better Seattle,” said Steve Ballmer. “We believe in the importance of providing youth with better opportunities and Connie and I are proud to partner with the Seahawks and the YMCA of Greater Seattle to support this effort.”“Alive & Free” educates young people and provides them with the tools to become self-sufficient adults and active members of the community.“The Seahawks will fully support and manage A Better Seattle,” said Seahawks President Peter McLoughlin.
